Shin Hye voices for Green Days

Earlier this year, our Star, Shin Hye had participated in dubbing for an Anime. Now we can reveal that project is an up-coming movie called, Green Days.

The story tells a girl, Yi-rang who does not want to lose, orchestrates a collapse in the middle of a relay race even though she’s on the verge of giving up her dream of becoming an athlete. At the same time, Soo-min transfers in from Seoul and Cheol-soo, who dreams of becoming a scientist, come into her life. They are all immature but they are in the midst of youthful aspiration. With this warm-hearted animation, Han Hye Jin and An Jae Hoon encourage Yi-rang’s dreams and portray the fantasy and flutter of adolescence through encounters with good people. Set in the ’80s and ’90s, an old umbrella and a railroad crossing the downtown in the film is the stuff that reminds us of our lost past, evoking a reminiscence in the audience of that which is vanished. It is a way of evoking the real “dreams” that we have lost in this modern society where a rapid capitalization is progressing. (LEE Sang-yong)

The movie premieres on October 11, 2010 at Pusan International Film Festival.

Lets keep an eye out for that movie!

Park Shin Hye, George Hu, and Tia Li present "Hayate" at television festival

GTV showcased their upcoming idol drama, “Hayate the Combat Butler” (adaptation of the popular manga), at the Television Festival. The main cast: Korean actress Park Shin Hye, the four member boy group Wu Hoo (formerly known as Wu-Hu-Jiang), and Otaku Goddess Tia Li were all there for the showcase. In regards to netizens criticizing that Park Shin Hye is too old for the role and Tia’s chest is too big to be a maid, GTV especially invited the original creator to support the cast; Park Shin Hye and Tia also emphasized that the script has been modified to better suit their characters.

The production team didn’t waste anytime as they brought Park Shin Hye to test out her new drama character’s image styles right after the press conference. The drama will begin its filming in October. Park Shin Hye expressed that it’ll take her a while to get used to the living styles of Taiwan, but she’s very happy to be filming with the handsome George Hu and beautiful Tia Li. She further commented that it almost feels like she’s filming the sequel of “You Are Beautiful”, especially when she’s surrounded by "all the good looking guys of Wu Hoo."

Korean movies hit the jackpot over Chuseok holiday

During this Chuseok holiday, a film has already managed to bring in six million moviegoers, and three other films have recorded one million in attendance as well.

According to reports by the Korean Film Council on September 26th, Wonbin’s “The Man From Nowhere” recorded 320,000 tickets sold over Chuseok, bringing the total up to 5.98 million since its release on September 4th.  From the 16th through the 25th, about 32,000 Koreans have been visiting the theaters every single day. The council predicts that “The Man From Nowhere” will reach six million by today, making it the highest box-office draw of the year.

Mujeokja” took first at the box office during Chuseok with a 1,157,498 member audience. Second was “Cyrano Agency” with 1,150,052 tickets sold. “Action,” which was released a week before both of the aforementioned films, recently managed to hit the one million mark, with 774,242 viewers  having watched it over Chuseok, bringing the total to 1,568,176.

One of the most important points is that the top five ranking includes three Korean movies, and a total of six are ranked in top 10. Although a lot of foreign films were released at the time, it seems as if Korean films have managed to capture the hearts of moviegoers.
