CNBLUE leader Jung Yong-hwa and actress Park Shin-hye have held the first script reading for their upcoming drama, according to the show's promoter on Wednesday.
MBC’s new Wed/Thurs drama “HEARTSTRINGS” made headlines by casting CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa andPark Shin Hye as its leads. The two were part of mega-popular drama “You’re Beautiful,” where Jung’s Shin Woo lost the girl - Park’s Mi Nam - to Jang Geun Suk’s Hwang Tae Kyung. The two received much love as the Shin Woo-Mi Nam couple in 2009 and will once again show their perfect on-screen chemistry.
On May 2nd, the entire cast of got together at the JS Picture’s office for their first script reading. For two months, television viewers will be able to feast their eyes on beautiful young up-and-coming stars like Jung Yong Hwa, Park Shin Hye, Song Chang Hui, So Yi Hyun, Kang Min Hyuk, and Woori. The drama also boasts of veteran actors like Shin Goo, Sun Woo Jae Duk, Lee Yil Hwa, and Kim Sun Kyung.
The drama's promoter, JS Pictures announced in a press release that along with Jung and Park, actor Song Chang-eui, actresses So E-hyun and Woo Ri as well as CNBLUE drummer Kang Min-hyuk took part in the first script reading session for "Heartstrings" on May 2.
"The atmosphere was a bit awkward since it was the very first time that the main and supporting cast gathered together in one spot," an official with the show was quoted as saying. "But once the reading session began everyone relaxed and it felt like one big family."
“Heartstrings” is singer-actor Jung Yong Hwa’s first lead role. Despite his hectic schedule promoting his album “Intuition” with fellow CNBlue members, he showed passion and energy towards acting. The actors showed up to the script reading ready for their parts. Jung Yong Hwa, who plays arrogant Lee Shin, showed up in a sharp blazer; and Park Shin Hye, who plays bubbly Lee Gyu Won, sported a new short hairdo.
The drama, which will premiere on June 29, will be helmed by scenarist Lee Myung-sook and producer Pyo Min-soo whose previous works include hit melodramas such as “Full House” (KBS, 2004) and “Worlds Within” (KBS, 2008).
